2011 Dec 12

Jacqueline Renee Jacokes, of Jamestown, NY, performed as part of the Buffalo State Wind Ensemble at Kleinhans Music Hall in mid-November. Kleinhans is home to the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. The Wind Ensemble accompanied a percussion concerto featuring three of Western New York's lead percussionists.

Jacokes, a graduate of Jamestown High School, played the clarinet in the performance under the direction of Rick Fleming, associate professor of music. The sophomore music education major has been part of the Wind Ensemble for one semester.

The concert at Kleinhans is part of Buffalo State's Year of the Arts--an eclectic schedule of visual and performing arts events. Buffalo State offers 166 undergraduate programs and 62 graduate programs, including the largest and most comprehensive visual arts program in SUNY.
