Meng Lin Ma of Brooklyn is a McNair Scholar at Buffalo State.

The McNair Scholars Program accepts full-time undergraduate students who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in a major that can lead to a Ph.D. The program is designed to prepare traditionally underrepresented students and first-generation college students with financial need for doctoral studies. To be accepted, students must demonstrate academic potential, show the desire to pursue graduate studies, and provide faculty recommendations.
