Schella Exil Took Part in 2017 Mock Trial Regional at Buffalo State

Schella Exil of Jamaica, NY was on the Mock Trial team fielded by Buffalo State when the college hosted the American Mock Trial Association's 2017 Great Lakes Regional Tournament in February. Exil is majoring in criminal justice.

This year's case was a civil trial in which a plaintiff, age 50, alleges age discrimination after being fired.

Buffalo State has hosted and participated in this annual event since 2011. Jon Lines, lecturer of political science and regional tournament director, said, "Even if students aren't interested in going on to law school, the skills they learn--oral communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and public speaking--will serve them well in any career they pursue."
