A Buffalo State College student is among the inaugural class of Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Student Ambassadors recently announced by State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor Jim Malatras.

Buffalo State College will grant the President's Medal for Outstanding Undergraduate and Graduate Student-the highest student honors bestowed by the college-to two of its most distinguished student leaders during its virtual 149th Commencement celebration on Saturday, May 15. The President's Medal recognizes students for their exceptional academic achievement, community service, leadership, and creativity.

Buffalo State College proudly recognized several students who were awarded the 2021 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence. The highest student honor bestowed by SUNY, the Chancellor's Award recognizes those who have integrated academic excellence with distinguished achievement in areas such as community service, campus involvement, creative and performing arts, athletics, entrepreneurship, leadership, and career achievement.

Buffalo State College junior Alia Williams is among 212 students who have been named a 2021-2022 Newman Civic Fellow by Campus Compact, a national nonprofit organization that works to advance higher education's public purposes. The 2021 cohort comprises students from 39 states; Washington, D.C.; and Mexico.

Buffalo State held its annual Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Honors Convocation on May 4. The convocation recognizes students who have achieved a 3.0 GPA during the spring or fall 2016 semester as well as students who have a cumulative 3.0 GPA.

Buffalo State senior Nailah Shah-Taylor has been named a Nancy Larson Foundation Scholar and awarded a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of her inspiring personal narrative, excellent academic record, and spirit of community service. Just five pre-service teachers from across the country received the award.

Buffalo State will hold its annual Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Honors Convocation on May 10. The convocation recognizes students who have achieved a 3.0 GPA during the spring or fall 2017 semester as well as students who have a cumulative 3.0 GPA through 2017.

Students completed the required coursework to complete certificates in graduate study at Buffalo State.

Buffalo State held its annual Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Honors Convocation on May 5. The convocation recognizes students who have achieved a 3.0 GPA during the spring or fall 2015 semester as well as students who have a cumulative 3.0 GPA.

The Student Support Services Program at Buffalo State honored 88 students for carrying a cumulative grade point of 3.0 or higher. The SSSP program serves first-generation, low-income students and students with disabilities by providing advisement, counseling, and training.

Buffalo State held its 45th annual Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Honors Convocation on May 7. The convocation recognizes students who have achieved a 3.0 GPA during the spring or fall 2014 semester as well as students who have a cumulative 3.0 GPA.

Buffalo State welcomed 67 transfer students into Tau Sigma, a national honor society for transfer students, on April 11, 2015. To be invited to join, transfer students must have completed at least one year's worth of credits at the institution they transferred from and have earned a minimum GPA of 3.5 during their first term at Buffalo State.

Ashley Smith, a graduate of West Irondequoit High School, received the James Lombardo, Sr. Award at Buffalo State College for her outstanding artwork.
