The Ross B. Kenzie Family Scholarship is awarded to students who qualify based on high school average, SAT/ACT scores, and ability to achieve academically. To continue to receive the scholarship, students must maintain a 3.0 grade-point average.

Seven Buffalo State students in Public Murals, a service-learning course offered by the college's Fine Arts Department, put in a total of seven hundred hours to create public art for Friends of Ellicott, a nonprofit that works to benefit Ellicott Creek Island Dog Park at Ellicott Creek Park in Amherst, NY.

An elite group of Buffalo State students are McNair scholars. The McNair Scholars Program prepares qualified, eligible undergraduate students for doctoral studies by providing them with research opportunities, stipends, faculty and staff mentoring, and preparation for graduate studies.

More than 400 students volunteered on Buffalo State's annual "Bengals Dare to Care Day 2016." Students volunteered at a variety of community organizations. The event demonstrated Buffalo State's commitment to community engagement.

Buffalo State is pleased to welcome the Class of 2020 to campus. The new Bengals started class on August 29, 2016.
